Neeru Bakshi, MD, FAPA

Dr. Neeru Bakshi is a board-certified psychiatrist who has worked with people with eating disorders for the entirety of her career in a variety of treatment settings. In her work, Dr. Bakshi seeks to understand by leading with curiosity and empathy. She also has a desire to understand the history to then shape the future through education and conversation.
Dr. Bakshi is passionate about Project Heal because she believes that access to high-quality, culturally thoughtful care should be accessible to all. In her career, Dr. Bakshi has worked to remove barriers to care by challenging the status quo of our current healthcare system and by educating providers of care.
Neeru has served as a Medical Director for an national eating disorder program, as a committee co-chair for BIPOC eating disorder providers within an international organization, and as a founder advisory board member for a virtual eating disorder program. She has provided education to various psychiatry residency programs, and she continues to provide education through her national speaking engagements and trainings. Neeru is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Washington State Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Bakshi earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The George Washington University and her Doctor of Medicine from Texas A&M Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency Training at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Washington. She currently serves as a psychiatrist with Headspace and sees patients in a telehealth capacity.
Neeru’s favorite ice cream flavor is anything with chocolate.
