Undoing Beauty Standards One Partnership at a Time

Written by Project HEAL

As a nonprofit dedicated to breaking down barriers to eating disorder healing, teaming up with a beauty brand may seem odd, even problematic. We get it. We were hesitant, too.

But after meeting with the Undone Beauty team years ago, it clicked. They are also breaking down barriers in their field: undoing traditional beauty ideals; promoting self-acceptance; featuring their products on real, unretouched people of all shapes, sizes, skin tones, and ages; pricing affordably; using natural and cruelty-free ingredients, and committing early on as a brand to give back regularly and generously. Partnerships like this are game-changing for us. They not only increase our ability to raise awareness about eating disorders and treatment equity, but they also directly fund our mission and allow us to help more people.

In our third year of partnership, Undone Beauty and Project HEAL have teamed up to spread awareness of eating disorders and Project HEAL’s services in the month of September. As always, Undone Beauty is donating 1% of all the proceeds from September, as well as 100% of proceeds from the ‘Dahlia’, the custom Project HEAL shade from their top-selling Lip to Cheek Cream Palette Collection. Not only does this soft, cool raspberry blush make the perfect addition to your makeup routine, it supports Project HEAL every day.

In addition, we’re collaborating with Carly Compton - therapist, model, podcast host, self-love + confidence educator, and eating disorder recovery advocate - for the month of September. Carly, the Project HEAL team, and the Undone Beauty team have created content for our individual audiences about how they can access eating disorder healing resources, available to people who are low-income and under- or un-insured.

Join us as we break the mold together, focusing on undoing beauty standards and replacing them with knowledge about how we can all, as individuals and as organizations, support increased access to eating disorder healing.
