Sara A. Brody
Sara A. Brody currently works as the Director of Strategic Business for Murfreesboro Dental Excellence and Dr. Nate’s Naturals (an all natural oral health care product line) in addition to managing other entrepreneurial ventures for the company’s owner, located in Murfreesboro, TN. From 2007 – 2010, she co created and ran a non profit organization called Rutherford LEAP which was dedicated to help provide public school students with the tools they need to be successful in the workplace and higher education through the daily use of technology in the classroom. In 2006, Sara left Lehman Brothers Inc., after a successful 22 year career where she worked in divisions such as Corporate Real Estate, Corporate Advisory, Equity Operations and Information Technology.
Sara has had a life long passion for learning and education coupled with the desire to help others. In addition to holding a position as the co-chair of The Project HEAL board, Sara also is on the Board of Directors with the Linebaugh Library Foundation in Murfreesboro, TN. She graduated from Binghamton Unviersity with a B.S. in Political Science.
Jack Britvan
Jack J. Britvan, SIOR began his Real Estate Career in 1977 and is President and Owner of Commercial Realty Services of Long Island, Inc., Woodbury, New York. Jack is past President (2004/2005) of the New York City and Downstate New York Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). He is a founding board member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS) and had been a Board Member for 13 out of the 20 years since CIBS was established. In January 2011 Jack retired as Secretary to the CIBS Executive Board of Directors. On November 10, 2010 Jack was honored by CIBS via his receiving of CIBS Distinguished Leadership Award.
In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and again in 2012, Jack was re-elected Vice President of the Metro New York Chapter of New York State Commercial Association of Realtors (NYSCAR). Jack has taught the New York Real Estate Broker’s course at LIU/C.W. Post College and has been a lecturer and panelist to various organizations.
Jack “actively” participates in several charities: The American Cancer Society (for 24 years), where Jack served on the Long Island Board of Directors for eight years, was a member of the Division’s Executive Committee for 5 years, served as Income Development Chairman for two consecutive terms and created several successful fundraising events.
Jack was personally honored at a function hosted by OSI Pharmaceutical for his involvement in enacting Nassau County Smoking Bans which has spread to New York State and other States.
Jack presently sits on the Board of Directors for Project Heal. Other charities include the Executive Advisory Board of CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Services) retired in April 2008 and he is a former member of WLIW Public Television Advisory Council. Jack has also worked with and been honored by The Theresa Foundation and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
Medha Khandelwal
Medha Khandelwal currently works at skedge.me, and enterprise online scheduling start-up, where she is working to help grow the company. Previously she worked as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company, where she advised private equity clients on debt and equity investments as well as developed corporate strategy for clients in the consumer goods, industrials, banking, and medical technology industries.
Jane Stewart Saffran
Jane Stewart Saffran has been a corporate attorney at ABC/Disney for the past twenty-two years, overseeing a group of lawyers and legal assistants who provide legal support to the ABC Television Network; the ABC Owned Television Stations; the ESPN Radio Network and Radio Stations; the Radio Disney Radio Network and Radio Stations; and Hyperion Publishing. Prior to joining ABC, Jane worked as an associate at several large New York City law firms, specializing in real estate and corporate transactions, as well as employment law and general litigation.
Prior to attending law school, Jane taught at two New York City private schools, while attending Columbia Teachers College and Bank Street School of Education. Jane has a B.A. degree in Psychology and Education (Magna Cum Laude; Phi Beta Kappa) from Smith College, and also attended Princeton University for the first two years of her college career. After teaching for four years, Jane attended Fordham University Law School, from which she received her J.D.
In addition to serving on the Project HEAL Board, Jane is a Board Member of both the Douglaston Local Development Corporation and the Douglaston Little Neck Historical Society. She also serves as a mentor for ABC mid-management employees in the ABC Executive Mentoring Program. Additionally, she is a mentor in the ABC/LaGuardia High School Mentoring program, where she is paired with a student throughout their high school career, providing academic, “life skills,” and college counseling advice.
