Ashley is currently a sophomore at Tulane University, and the cofounder of this Project HEAL chapter. Ashley grew up a dancer and witnessed and experienced the body image pressures specifically in this atmosphere. After noticing the prominence of these issues in college, specifically as a college dancer, she wanted to bring eating disorder awareness and education to Tulane. Ashley is a pre-medical biochemistry major, so is mostly interested in learning about the medical side of eating disorders and their side effects. She is extremely excited to take such an important issue and bring it to light at Tulane through Project HEAL’s mission!
Victoria Parrilla is a founding member of the Project HEAL Tulane Chapter. Victoria started the chapter with her friend Ashley after recognizing the lack of education and awareness of eating disorders on campus and in the New Orleans community. As a psychology major, Victoria is very passionate about helping others heal and hopes to pursue graduate level education in mental health to provide care to those with eating disorders and related mental health issues. She is excited to spread Project HEAL’s mission to make sure people are educated, help individuals get the treatment they deserve, and promote positive body image.
